Hi All,

I have "just" been diagnosed with my 2nd DVT (first one 10 years ago)
I have been on pip for 3 years different condition to the DVT
My new updated pip form was put in 10 weeks ago
( I'm still waiting for the decision ) should I just wait untilI i get my decision or should I contact the DWP and let them know.

Thanks for the advice

I would certainly tell those assessing you about the DVT, but as they are "temporary" it is not something that can be considered for your PIP claim which requires you to suffer from an issue for 3 months and to be expected to for a further nine months.

Hi Gordon,

I think it's going to be a minimum of three months just for the treatment. My first one was over a year on warfarin ( blood thinner) the doc says that because it's my second DVT I will be on warfarin for life or something else I can't quite remember the name of the other medication he said. It means I'm susceptible now to these things and as your aware they are life threatening. It's all a bit of a shock I'm getting tested to see if I have a genetic problem.
Sorry I was getting carried away there ( lol )
So you think it's best to tell them before I get this re-assessment thru the post? To be honest I don't like contacting them at all if I can help it, as I just can't say what I'm thinking. It comes out all wrong.
( i panick )

Thanks

Purp

I'm in a similar situation and it's really not a big deal and has no impact on my daily living apart from taking the tablets each day and regular blood tests.

Hi Gordon,

Brilliant, when these things happen to you its panic stations.
The pain at the moment is unbelievable and with the spinal problems I have, you wonder if it gets any better. The clot is in my good leg and I can't put any weight on it all at the moment. So it's good to hear from somebody who has had basically the same thing.

Thanks Gordon
