Hello

I had a letter around 3 weeks ago saying my pip claim was with the medical professional and I would hear soon (looked like a standard letter) The claim form (DLA to PIP transfer) had been put in about two and a half weeks before that. So now getting on for 6 weeks (and almost 3 since Capita wrote to say it was with the medical professional) I have no news and no dates. The claim as accompanied with GP and other evidence. Once they get hold of a PIP2 at Capita do they usually take several weeks ? And if they do decide to see me is it usually about a weeks notice ? and what if one wants to make a case for a home visit and ones GP is (as mine usually is) away for 2 weeks easter holidays. I gather a GP letter is usually needed for arguing a home assessment. ?

It's our impression that assessment times are starting to increase, all I suggest it that you contact Capita for an update.

Claimants are entitled to seven days written notice of an appointment although this include postage time.

If you want a home assessment then you almost certainly need the support of your GP to write a letter to Capita explaining why you cannot attend at their offices.
