Hello.
I am trying to get my evidence together after receiving my bundle last Saturday.
I am not doing to badly seeing that I have to do most of it on my own but I must admit that I don't understand a lot of the medical jargon that the mental health nurse has put in my assessment for the movements that I can make i.e.' LEFT AND RIGHT ANKLE DORSIFLEXTION 20 DEGREES OR MORE (UPWARDS MOVEMENT OF LEFT AND RIGHT ANKLEWITHIN NORMAL RANGE)'.
There is a full page of similar but less understandable information to this and to be honest I really don't understand any of it!
As I said she is a mental health nurse and I can't imagine her knowing much if anything about Hypermobility and Arthritis in exactly the same joints and how it would affect me,one makes the joints more lax and move further than they would normally as in double jointed and the other is the joints wearing away so both together is double trouble!
Is this normal for a HP that has different medical knowledge to what is really needed to be allowed to do the assessment and comment on it,i'm assuming, without knowledge of the symptoms and what they entail.

As to the terms you don;t understand the simplest solution is to Google the words.

The DWP view is that all assessors are trained to a standard that they set in Disability Assessment, you can't assume that their having no training in regard to your conditions will have an impact on the quality of the assessment. It may be with the assessment report in hand that you can show that their lack of knowledge has materially impacted on the report, but you will need to provide specific examples of where this has happened and also be aware that the most likely outcome of doing this would be a new face to face.
