Moving from DLA to PIP I estimated I qualified Enhanced Rate for both. But after a disappointing medical where I think the Medical Professional was completing a cut and paste exercise with my details I was awarded Standard Rate Mobility and No Care. I had followed your guidance to apply but the DWP report was full of inconsistencies. I had actually been awarded the different levels of Mobility in the report. I followed the guidance on reconsideration and managed to achieve Enhanced on both gaining all the points I had asked for, scoring 20 points for Living and 16 for Mobility my previous score was 6 for Living and 10 for Mobility. It may be worth mentioning I scored 2 for making complex budgeting decisions. I explained I have problems with controlling spending I have previously been bankrupt because of it and my husband has to check my accounts, the first decision maker gave me no points but I got 2 on reconsideration. I explained I have the ability to carry out handling money mentally but cannot control my spending, which I think is linked to depression and feeling better when I spend money. Your guides gave me the confidence to put my case confidently using more evidence and sending photographs which I think really help. Thankyou.

Hi, I was just wondering what kind of photos you sent in as evidence. Ive read several places where it mentions using them but not sure what of.

Am in the process of DLA to PIP and have to send my form off soon and after losing ESA because i didn't know about this amazing website, i am determined to get this one as good as humanly possible right from the very start.

For instance I use rise and fall medical bed to sit on while I dress and I use it to lean on when getting up from toilet, I told medical professional this but he left it out of the report stating I use the sink to help me get up from toilet. The photograph showed the bed and the position of the sink in the bathroom to prove he had made an incorrect statement. The sink was five feet away. I photographed my bath lift, stair lift, my husband giving my insulin shots I have to lie on the bed, he injects because I am unable to do this myself one has to be shaken 80 times to mix which I cant do . I photographed the front ramped access. It just supports what you are stating, my husband needed a reconsideration also as he lost his PIP Care but with his reconsideration evidence sent photographs of equipment he uses one was a raised toilet seat. The decision maker thanked him for the photographs which he said were very helpful. He was awarded his standard rate again. You can never have enough evidence, things you may not even think of may be evidence. I have trouble motivating myself to wash and dress in the morning and it is often as late as 3 or 4pm before I am dressed and can face going out. I had sent copies of hospital appointments and pointed out none were in the morning all were after 3.30 which fits with what I am saying. I worked for many years as a benefits adviser in the DWP and filled in DLA forms for many people with 100% success rate, take your time with the form send as much evidence as you can, unfortunately you can do nothing if your medical professional misses out relevant information or tells untruths. I arrived in a very agitated state crying and shaking, he said I was calm, and because of that did not believe I suffered anxiety or depression. I visited my GP who wrote a supportive letter saying I had suffered with both conditions for many years. He said I sat comfortably throughout the interview, I replied he never asked if I was comfortable so how could he possibly know. I hope you get your award first time but if not use the guides here they were so helpful challenging the decision.
