Hi I have received an appointment letter for ESA MEDICAL assessment, to take place at my house !
The last time I completed an ESA50 form was in January 2016 of which I never got a reply but my payments continued to be paid into my bank and at the same rate which they have always been.
Then out of the blue this letter arrived. Surely with the time gap they should of sent me anew Esa50 to give me a chance to send any new reports and evidence before telling me that they are coming to assess me in my home.?
Is this normal ? I didn't request a home visit.
Confused. Dollydee

some areas of the country are still experiencing significant delays in the assessment process so I think it likely that this WCA is in connection with the ESA50 that you completed last year.

There is nothing stopping you completing a new ESA50, you can download a copy and either print it and complete it by hand or fill it in on your computer and then print it. See

Using The PDF Version Of The ESA50 Questionnaire

Make sure that you use the latest ESA Claim guides as there has bee changes to the DWP guidance in the last year that may effect your answers.

A home assessment is a reflection that Maximus see your disabilities as significant enough to prevent you attending at their offices, however, this does not mean that you meet the ESA Descriptors for an award so it is important that you provide an update on your limitations.

If you have more questions then please reply to this post and we will do our best to help.

Are there a new discriptor point scores for the SG ? Has the mental health questions changed like they have with pip ?
I have esa medical on Friday morning then pip assessment on 3rd of may, very stressing to have both so close together.
Can't cope, what if both are stopped if I get one of the non-listening assessor like I have done in the past.
I have requested a lady, English speaking doctor but last time the chinese, poor English lady came but brought a Asian man with her , said he was training. Can I refuse to let him into my house ,as ptsd is a massive illness to me as I was broken into and attacked by a man in my house. I Am terrifyed of stranges and won't let anyone in as specially men.
Thanks dollydee

There have been no changes to the ESA Descriptors or Regulations in regard to the assessment criteria, just the guidance issued by the DWP.

Has the Assessment Provider confirmed that you will receive a home assessment? Also, have they said that they will only provide a female assessor?
