Hi Members
I have recently had my IB medical review put back until July 2011,I will be 62 by then, I also get high rate and middle rate of DLA, does this mean that there could be a chance that I could be moved to ESA.
Thanks Treanor

With the new ConDem government I doubt anyone can answer your question yet.

The current position is that claimants who reach pensionable age before the end of March 2014 will not be migrated to ESA, they will stay on their current benefits. The DWP say this is to avoid people having to make two changes of benefit in a short period of time.

As papasmurf says however, this may change with the current government, particularly as they gave a commitment to review the existing retirement age to bring it forward earlier than the previous government, although they did say that any change wouldn't come into effect until 2016 at the earliest.
