Hallo A friend may come into some money-more than the £6,000 threshold for Housing Benefit. He has been advised by another person that this may exclude him from receiving Housing Benefit.
However is Incapacity Benefit Means tested too?
There dont seem to be any questions about savings, investments etc. on the application form for Incapacity Benefit or am I wrong?
You hear of £100,000 pa Execeutives being made redundant & claiming dole or State Pension.
Please can anyone advise as he is worried he may lose Incapacity Benefit if he accepts the Money?
Many Thanks

No, incapacity benefit is not means-tested.

How much housing benefit he will lose will depend on how much he has. He won't get any if he has over £16,000. For every £250 over £6,000 he has, he will lose £1/week housing benefit.
