The AR1 is an update form and is supposed to be read in conjunction with your previous PIP2 and PA4.

Afternoon mods.

My PIP2 reassessment form arrived right on time, one year ahead of my award end date. It is the new AR1 form.

I've been preparing for this for quite a while but have had another spell in hospital so still have a bit to do.

Could I please ask for your help with a few questions on supplying supporting information. The form states not to give anything older than 2 years. My last assessment was in March 2015 and since then I have been keeping information/evidence for the reassessment.

1). I was also going to send some of the information provided for my last assessment: ill health retirement certificate and letter from Capita, letters from Atos pertaining to my retirement, GP and consultant letters. Do you think I should include these?

2). I have all my discharge letters from hospital stays but because I'm so poorly even on discharge it's never crossed my mind to let them know I've been in. Do you think I'll get in trouble for this?

3). Can you send anything from your PA4 report from the last assessment? Would anything from this help?

Thank you as always for your time.

Hi Judith,

1) + 3) Send in anything you believe will be helpful. This is your claim and you need to feel confident that you have given all the information you need.

2) PIP is only suspended when the claimant has been in hospital for more than 28 days. I think this is per admission, not cumulative - I am sure Gordon will correct me if I am wrong.

Please reply to this with further questions or comments about your PIP so that we can keep everything in one place :)

It is a total of 28 days in hospital.

The day you are admitted to hospital and leave are not counted, any two periods of admittance that are separated by 28 days or less are linked.

Thank you Mrs Hurtyback & Gordon.

Re Q2. Can I ask do you think I wil be in trouble for not having told DWP of my hospital admissions.
Also my form has taken 9 days to arrive and the return period includes the 2 bank holiday dates. I will call to ask for an extension to help give me time to complete and return.
Once they have received the form do you know what the time is approximately now for them getting back in touch with you. Or does that depend on whether I will require a F2F.

Many thanks again.

Providing you have not exceeded the 28 days then it should not be a problem.

Yes, ask for an extension if you need it.

We would expect you to have an appointment letter in 2-4 weeks after returning the PIP2, assuming a F2F is required, for an appointment 2-3 week s later.
