DLA To PIP QUERY was created by abundancexx
Hi there,
I'm currently on DLA I recieve the lower rates on both parts until 2020, my conditions have worsen over time and I plan to inform DLA the changes on my health conditions.
I know this will trigger me being invited to claim PIP. Was wondering as I have had a face to face assessment for ESA a month ago (which was successful - placed in support group) what are the chances of me being asked to attend another one for pip, also if they use information from my face to face assessment for ESA to decide on my claim for pip.
Also the letter I recieved to say I was successful for ESA did not state what descriptors I met, is there any way of finding this information out?
Many thanks in advance

Whether you have a face to face assessment or not will depend on the information you supply in and with your PIP2, the Assessment Provider will need to have sufficient information to make a recommendation to the DWP.
Your ESA report may be used in the assessment process, but it also may not, our recommendation would be to include it yourself and reference it in your PIP2 as relevant. If you do not have a copy of it then you can request it from the DWP that manages your ESA claim, ask for the ESA85.
Be aware, even where there are similarities between the ESA and PIP activities the actual criteria can be quite different.

Just to let you know I went from DLA to PIP without an assessment - previously on middle rate care and transferred to its equivalent on PIP.
I had also had problems with my ESA - lost it but won it on appeal so had been expecting a fight with PIP. Good luck with yours!

Thank your Gordon for your reply
Is the ESA85 the actual report stating what descriptors I qualified for?

Hi Nickjb,
Thank you and well done persevering with the appeal!!
Although ESA and PIP have similarities but are different. It confuses me how you could be getting one
but not qualify for the other.
It's so stressful !!
