Carers Alowance and PIP Submission. was created by Suzie30
I have received my DWP Submission Documents, ref my upcoming pip appeal Tribunal Hearing, their points of dispute include a reference to my Carer's Allowance which I receive, and they have asked the Tribunal to explore this further.
I claim Carer's Allowance for my Mother who is 86, and in receipt of Attendance Allowance I don't do any Physical work for her because of my Disabilities I'm unable to do so, I'm just there for her, I visit her every day with my Husband, and we stay with her for more than 35 hours a week ( she lives in the next road to me 2 minutes away) to watch over her and ensure she is safe.
It seems to me the DWP is saying because of my disabilities I would be unable to care for my Mother for 35 hours a week, so my disabilities can't be all that bad therefore I'm not entitled to pip.
Any advice Please.

You need to be aware that Tribunals see this as a valid argument, this doesn't mean that you can't both have a CA award and a PIP one but you need to be prepared to explain how you manage the caring without it impacting on your PIP claim.
