Not providing medical evidence / PIP appeal was created by Isabel Dunlop
MS sufferer has opted not to accept medical interventions fro the sake of her good mental, health. She is not depriving herself of a miracle cure and subsequent withdrawal from benefits. Purely for her good mental health and state of mind. Will having no medical evidence adversely impact on PIP appeal. She was awarded Standard daily Living and nil mobility.

It won't help but conversely it may not be a hindrance either.

I assume that your MS is a diagnosed condition and that you have or can obtain documentation to support this.

PIP is not so much about the condition but the limitations that result from it, most claimants struggle to provide medical evidence that directly relates to the PIP assessment criteria, also a lot of claimants have been "parked" by the NHS and do not have up to date evidence, so you are not alone in this.

The only real negative is that the DWP can assess you on the basis of your taking medication for your conditions so you need explain in detail why you have opted to take any.

Have a look at our PIP Claim guide for details of the assessment criteria and help in completing the form.
