PIp and esa was created by Mary
My son was awarded high rate care and mobility indefinite award as a child on dla Pip assessment lost everything, reconsideration same result he has severe epilepsy and dyslexia and went to special school but is now 27 and has never worked.
He did a degree to try and further his education needed help in college and had seizures throughout his course and all his exams and had to resit them all . But he eventually got a degree in IT He is in support group esa he wants to try to work but I have to drive him everywhere, but car going back now lost mobility he can't travel on buses fear of having a seizure .
Going to appeal but they seem to think he's had a miracle cure and no longer has his disability and the fact he's tried to improve his life and study they have penalised him.
I don't think if he got a job he could apply for disabled working tax credit because they are saying he's not disabled.
He still has seizures has sick notes from Gp and on highest medication for his epilepsy I am also disabled and now on medication for stress I haven't done my pip yet .
Can no longer afford mortgage the way things are going I'm going to appeal but my son doesn't understand this because of seizures I can only explain so much to him.
I'm going to download your forms and pray I can do this
Thank you for listening

I'm really sorry to heat this.

Claimants with Epilepsy are going to struggle to score points for PIP, DLA had a general requirement for Care which allowed many sufferers to receive an award, but PIP has no such provision so claimants must show that they have a need for supervision when performing activities such as Preparing Food and Washing and Bathing.

You appear to be a long term user, did you use the PIP Claim guide to help you complete the form?

The PIP Appeal guide has links to the SSCS1 form that you will need to complete and the Submissions guide has a complete example that you can use to help you fill it in, you do not need to provide detailed reasons at this stage for your request.

Once your appeal is accepted the DWP will prepare their submission to the hearing and send you a copy, whilst you should wait until you receive this to finish and submit your own, you should start to prepare your own case, an increased award will only be made by your showing that you score the extra points for one, so I would start by going back through your PIP2, the assessment report and the PIP Claim guide to see how you might show this is the case.

If you have further questions then please reply to this post and we will do our best to help.
