Hi, I'm new to this site but I've already found the downloadable stuff really useful. My background is I suffer panic attacks, anxiety and have PTSD following the birth of my son who was born 8 years ago (traumatic birth) When he was 4 he was diagnosed with autism and severe learning difficulties. I have been on DLA a few years now (middle care low mobility) and recently had to submit a PIP application. In Feb this year I had a face to face assessment. I was petrified and brought my mum though she sat downstairs. Anyhow I've been awarded 0 points and as I asked for a copy of the examiners report I keep reading that I'm not on a high dose medication so in other words I can carry out all these day to day tasks. Also there's details of what I was supposed to have done during the musculoskeletal exam. I wasn't asked to to any of the tasks. I live in Northern Ireland and I've to get my appeal ready for posting in the morning. Any ideas how I address the medication issue which keeps being noted throughout her report? Many thanks in advance.

Welcome to the forum, you might want to have a look at the following FAQ which explain where everything is

Welcome to Benefits and Work

The dosage of medication that you take may not be the issue that you think it is at this time, if you have only used the PIP2 form for guidance on the criteria that you were assessed against then it is possible that you have not explained your problems in sufficient detail to score the points you needed for an award.

The first stage to challenging a Decision is for you to request a Mandatory Reconsideration, this needs to be done in writing to the DWP, within one month of the Decision, to the office that dealt with your claim, have a look at our PIP MR & Appeal guide for details of the process, the PIP area also has template letters that you can use to make the request with.

You should contact the DWP for a copy of the assessment report if you have not already done so, I would phone them but again follow up the request in writing. Once you have the assessment report you will have a better understanding of how the DWP Decision Maker has come to their conclusions and will then be able to argue against them.

Your primary task is to show that you meet the criteria, I would go through your PIP2, the assessment report and our PIP Claim guide (same link as above), to see if you can explain your problems with each of the PIP activities, in particular have a look at the section in the guide that covers "reliability".

When you have a better idea of the issues with your claim, come back to the forum and we will do our best to help.
