ESA decision letter info was created by redredwall
I have recently received a letter from Job centre plus confirming that I have been placed in the support group and how much I am to be paid but there is no mention of when this is until.

Are we usually informed of how long the assessment stands for?

Also does anyone know if it is worthwhile trying to claim PIP for mental health issues at the moment?

Congratulations on the award, well done.

ESA awards are indefinite but with the prospect of regular reassessment, you can contact the DWP office that deals with your claim and ask for the prognosis date, this usually determines when you will be reassessed.

As to the PIP, do you think that you meet the criteria, if you do then consider applying. The PIP Claim guide has details.

Hi and thank you and other members of the forum for their support during the past 8 months. So do people not usually receive a report from the DWP? I'm just interested as to how they assessed me.

Also I do feel I am likely to meet the criteria for PIP but have heard that they recently all but made it impossible to claim this for people suffering with mental health issues. Is this not the case?

They don't send the assessment report unless it is requested by the claimant, again, contact the DWP office dealing with your claim, it's an ESA85 if you had a F2F or an ESA85A if you did not.

There have been no changes to the PIP Daily Living criteria due to mental health and the ones made to the Mobility Descriptors do not prevent an award, but may limit one depending on the claimants problems.
