Worried about Falling Support Grouo Numbers

In your manual it says: "From January 2016 the number of initial assessments that resulted in claimants being placed in the support group began to fall dramatically, from 56% in December 2015 to 33% in March 2016. The main reason seems to be a much harsher interpretation of the substantial risk regulations."

Is this for people who have never claimed ESA before?

There's no difference between a new claim for ESA and a reassessment, the same "rules" are applied.

That's really worrying me then. Do we need to mention about substantial risk? Or shall I get my GP to mention this or words to that effect? Thanks

If you hope to qualify via the Substantial Risk Regulations then I'm afraid you will have to explain why and you will need to provide evidence to support what you write.

These regulations operate differently from one reassessment until the next, if you had Osteoarthritis then there will be a reasonable expectation that you will still be suffering from the illness, but this is not the case for Substantial Risk, you must show that you are still affected each time you are assessed.
