PIP telephone review assessment - can someone assist the applicant?

As a carer for someone with psychosis I would phone the IAS or Capita number and insist on a paper based review because an interview ( face to face or telephony ) would be injurious to her health. Quote to the phone agent this guidance from the PIP Assessors Guide....
1.12.6 Examples of health conditions that may affect mental capacity and may potentially mean the claimant could struggle to engage with the PIP journey include ..... Schizophrenia

Schizophrenia is usually accompanied with lower mental insight and discussion in detail of her psychosis where there is a lack of insight could be injurious to health.

1.4.10 In all cases and on all forms the HP completes when giving advice, the HP should check their advice for any information which could be seriously harmful to the claimant’s health if it were disclosed – for example, a poor prognosis that is unknown to the claimant or a diagnosis of a psychotic illness in a claimant who lacks insight into their condition. This is known as ‘harmful information’ In law, this is the only information that can be withheld from a claimant.

Sorry, I meant your sister. Reasonable adjustments for disabled peoole under the Equality Act 2010, which the DWP say they adhere to in their letters, means your sister should be able to have any reasonable form of assistance (adjustment), this could include verbal help technically, but you should contact them first asking for the reasonable adjustments, using that term, and for questiins in advance. That doesn't mean they'll give them to you though, in which case you can report to & request help from the EASS helpline.
