Does Change of meds affect my PIP was created by Andie
Hi Forum

I take 200mg for mental health condition. However I would like come off these pills and try and use more less addictive meds or none at all.

I still take meds for arthritis and asthma.
Is it necessary to be on meds for my mental health to keep my PIP (ADP soon)

Many thanks

Hi Andie

You don't have to be on medication to keep your PIP or ADP. The only issue the authorities would be interested in - is whether your condition has improved. That is not what you're saying - you are just looking for different solutions. You will need to explain the change when you come to a review, as many assessors are obsessed with what medication people take (even though they shouldn't be) and tend to think if people aren't taking lots of tablets, they don't have any problems.

Andie, I’ve never took any medz for MH due to side effects & allergies, but I’ve had much counselling over the years.
