Do you have a recent PIP award letter? was created by Steve Donnison
Hi All,
I'm trying to find out if current PIP award letters tell claimants that their award will be reviewed a year before it ends. Does anyone have a copy of an award letter and, if so, does it have such a clause?
Many thanks,
Steve

Yes We do Steve, we had our letter in Sept last and an award for 3 years however they would be contacting us 12 months prior to the award ending to review the claim.

On my award letter it says if you have an end date you will be sent a letter around 14 weeks before it ends.

Steve,
My award letter, dated 18th December 2014, does have such a clause.
The first page explains that I am entitled to both components until 11th November 2019, and the second page states that "We'll contact you after 11 November 2018 to make sure you're receiving the right level of Personal Independence Payment".
My PIP claim was triggered by the expiry of a fixed term DLA award in a reassessment area, so the letter also mentions the cessation of DLA etc.

Hi Steve
My award letter has the clause, I have a 2 year award till March 2017, but that they will contact me next year (March 2016), to see if I am getting the correct rates, it also states if my award has an end date they will contact me 14 weeks before that date.

Hi yes my PIP letter said that I would be reviewed in March 2015 this year despite being awarded awarded till 2016. I had a tribunal for PIP in December, 2014 and was awarded till 2016 yet have still been reviewed, Cant recall the tribunal notice saying about being reviewed but will dig it out and have a look. The Tribunal awarded me till 2016 and the DWP representative at the tribunal told me to make sure that I reapplied for PIP 3 months before it ran out.
The PIP letter after the tribunal also said that I would be reviewed in March 2015 and I received another PIP form to fill in dated the exact date that I would be reviewed in the PIP letter. Awaiting to hear from DWP the results of the review. When I asked why I was being reviewed a year before the award ran out I was told it was because I may have improved. Presumably if they stop my PIP I will have to go through the MR and Appeal again.
