DWP PIP text me today was created by MrFibro
Hi to mods, and to all,

I got a text message today from the DWP as in relation to my PIP renewal. The message states:

We still have your PIP form and will be processing your review as soon as we can.
You may still need an assessment with a health care professional.

Your PIP will continue to be paid until we review your claim. You only need to contact us if your circumstances have changed.

My first question is has anyone else in the forum received such a text message the same as me ?

My second question is if you have had a message/ correspondence from the DWP / PIP how long was it before you got your renewal decision.

Finally how many in the forum had to have an assessment, and how many got paper back reviews.

I was under the impression if a claimant sends of a ton of evidence supporting their claim for the continuation of pip, then the DWP decision makers would deal with it, and save the government monies.

There again the goverment / dwp spare no monies to kick us off or cut out benefits down @ our expence not there's.

Thanks for reading, good luck to all.

Hi MrFibro

I know it can be frustrating but it is not the volumn of supporting documents you send it but the quality of the supporting document.

I know many claimants who send in all their hospital appointment letters but forget to add their consultant report letter, usually they forget to ask the consultant to send them a copy of the letter as well as their doctor.

Hi Gary,

thanks for your reply. All my documentation is not appointments letters but were all letter from various consultants and doctors etc.

And also i went into so much detail for all the pip reform questions, ie my answers were all relevant to their questions, and were consistent with all of my medical history and all the evidence i had sent in to them.

My personal belief is the goverment likes wasting tax payers monies on these assessments at the expense of the claimants who are sick/disabled. As its cheaper to pay for an assessor to assess a claimant, and then to either get them kicked off their benefits or reduced rates, than it would be to continue lets say the claimant's existing awards. Furthermore the more ill/ sick disabled you become the less you are likely to fight back ie MR! and or an appeal.

This is all pre-calculated and factored into the DWP's equation. Basically it's a win win situation on the whole for the DWP.

regards

Mr Fibro I fear you are right. I find the truth of your comment that
"the more ill/ sick disabled you become the less you are likely to fight back ie MR! and or an appeal." particularly damning as to the DWP/Gov't intentions.
I'd better not start on lining the pockets of profit making companies from the taxpayer's mostly very hard-earned cash.
Meanwhile huge big-up to B&W and our community for supporting one another in the struggles for just awards.
