Hello, I was given an extension deadline for when my Mandatory Consideration further evidence would be due as my initial PIP was rejected.
I didn’t send it in time, it was due yesterday the 30th June as I haven’t been doing too well, but today, I called them to get an extension for the mandatory consideration as I hadn’t sent in the further evidence yet.
They’ve now told me on the phone that they sent me a letter that they have rejected me, and if I want to appeal it I need to go to tribunal.
Should I just let it go to tribunal and submit everything for a tribunal? Or should I try and fight and ask them to reconsider the mandatory reconsideration as I need an extension of the time, I didn’t submit the evidence for the MR in time, it was due on the 30th June 2022 and they made the rejection decision of the mandatory consideration on the 30th June 2022. Is that even fair?
Not sure what to do next please can someone advise.
Hi M, Just appeal to the tribunal! Don't waste your time trying to persuade DWP.You have a month to send in the appeal form (SSCS1) This can be filled out online. It sounds like you have almost completed what you planned to send for MR. This can be used to give your reasons for appeal instead. I suggest you type this as a separate document and upload. There is a problem with formatting that can occur in the reasons box that means everything can come out as a long paragraph with no gap and is very difficult to read! Use everything as planned per MR.
Good luck. LL26
