My partner had a PIP assesment yesterday on the phone. Someone had called him the day before to ask if he was still ok for the call the next day. He said a woman would be phoning him at the time specified on the letter. He said that when she phoned it would appear on his phone as 'private number' . However when she called yesterday the number that appeared on his phone was a mobile number. Is this the norm? I found it a bit odd, because I would have thought that they would want to keep that kind of thing private, to avoid anyone calling back. I know myself if I had that job I would no way want to risk anyone contacting me in the future. Hope someone can enlighten me on this.
It is certainly unusual. I can't say why this happened other than to say that it was an error on their part. You can always raise it with the assessment service or the DWP if you're concerned about it.
