I applied and am currently getting the new style ESA since applying in April I sent all the form off on the 11th April and have not heard anything since then, I do get standard PIP on both categories but I am waiting on a MR as my condition got worse and they gave me same points.
Was wondering what the average timescale was before ESA make a decision and should I contact them to inform that my condition has got worse since I applied and if so how do I do this.
We are finding it impossible to give people timescales regarding when they will hear about ESA/UC or PIP. We know the DWP are struggling with a backlog of claims so that it could be any time.
To inform the DWP of a change in your condition - you can contact them and say that you wish to put in for a change of circumstances. When reporting a change, it needs to have happened for three months before you inform the DWP and with the likelihood that it will continue for at least another nine months. (Exceptions to that include terminal cancer). You will then be able to submit how your condition has deteriorated and its impact on the ESA criteria.
