Hi RunningonMT

Your MP does not do the work they just take the glory, MP's have caseworkers working for them , the caseworker will do all the work for the MP such as making phone calls or writing letters.

A friend of mine worked as a caseworker for a local MP.

You cannot pick up a PIP claims form as each form has a barcode, as to applying online, I believe that new claimants are given the option to apply online, if you are applying for a review then I do not believe you have this option yet, I have not come across this on the forum but I could be wrong.

Hi again RunningonMT. May I suggest that you should not be put off going to your MP? The more elevated they are they more likely I would guess that they have the cash to pay lots of office staff who will be the ones actually doing the work on constituents' issues like yours. So it could work out well for you.
Should you manage to do an online claim all I would say is for goodness sake keep all possible proof of what you submitted and when.
Best wishes,
Denby

Thanks for your response Gary. I have now written to my MP in the hope that someone somewhere pays attention and resolves this issue - not just for me but for everyone in the same position.
When I called the enquiry line this week to be told that I did need a 'new claim form' I was not offered the option to have an online application. From Googling I believe this online service was a six month trial starting 1st Feb 2022 - I am guessing, as i was not offered this (despite saying I was concerned the form arriving would delay my claim), that this trial has now ended. Who knows ? Thanks again for your response - It makes me feel less alone in my perilous journey. Regards RunningonMT

Hi RunningonMT

I don't think the online application for new claims has finished as we do still hear about them on the forum. I cannot remember hearing about an online review application.

Good luck with your MP

Hello All

A quick update for you all. I did write to my MP - it took about 6 weeks to get a response but it seemed to get the ball rolling. Thank you Gary for your suggestion to contact my MP.
I have now heard back from the DWP. The rule used to be 'no renewals for awards made by tribunal' but this was changed in July 2021. Unfortunately the six different people i spoke to at DWP since September 2022 (or the local Citizens Advice Bureau) were not aware of this rule update. It turns out in my case an admin inputting error at the DWP end following my tribunal meant there was conflicting information on my case file and no-one picked it up. Had they looked at my award notice instead of just the info on their screen they would have clearly seen this and potentially been able to sort the matter out earlier and avoided all the stress. The good news is my award has now been marked as an ongoing award pending renewal and a lovely lady (in the complaints department) not only sent me several letters to now evidence this she ALSO phoned me a week later to ensure I had received them ok. This has meant that 5 days before my claim was due to stop dead it was correctly extended (phew) and I have now also been able to re-apply for my blue badge too. Thank you to all who helped with their advice and for clarity please note that AWARDS MADE BY TRIBUNAL SHOULD NOW BE EXTENDED AUTOMATICALLY - AWAITING SUCH TIME AS THE DWP HAS TIME TO CATCH UP ON THEIR NEW CLAIMS AND START SENDING OUT RENEWAL FORMS - in the meantime my payments will continue until such time as a new decision is made on my renewal claim (once it has been submitted). I'll be back when the time comes to reapply using the renewal forms. Take care all.

Hi RunningonMT

This is such good news. Many congratulations on your perseverance for getting this sorted out. And thank you for the information. You have highlighted why some people were getting renewals and others weren't.
