Question re Universal Credit was created by A-nobody
Hello, for some years I have been in the support group on ESA ( income related) My health is so bad that after assessment DWP wrote to me and said they will not reassess me in future unless my health improves.
My wife is allowed to work up to 24 hours a week and does in fact work 16 hours .Her earnings are simply taken off our benefit payment .
My wife has never been made to attend the job centre or complete a work search or any such thing like that . She is not registered as my carer ( that falls to my son)
My question is this …when we are forced onto UNIVERSAL CREDIT will my wife still be allowed to work part time and NOT be forced to attend the job centre to meet a work coach and do courses etc? She wants to continue her part time work without having to be dragged to the job centre because it is perfect for our situation.

Hi A-nobody

We cannot answer your question as it would depend on a number of factors. I assume that you are in receipt of PIP daily living component if your son is your registered carer. This arrangement may have to change.

You need to contact your local Welfare Rights Organisation who can take all your circumstances into consideration; you can find your local Welfare Rights Organisation to help you with advice by clicking on the link below and putting in your post code, it will then come up with a MAP with a list of agencies. advicelocal.uk
