Mobility question 1. d. Cannot follow the route of an unfamiliar journey without another person, assistance dog or orientation aid. 10 points.
Does the dog have to be a registered assistance dog? I've had severe hearing loss most of my life, and now almost aged 60 diagnosed with both severe issues from ADHD and Autism. I'll soon be living alone again and rely very much on one of my dogs as security, emotional support and alert for people at the door etc. I had asked years ago if he could be trained as a hearing dog but they only train their own pups, and I have another elderly dog so can't apply for a hearing dog. I do not go away without my dog, I'd be too scared to stay away overnight without him due to hearing loss, can I claim this level or will DWP reject it? TIA
