After call from DWP was created by GVN
Hi

I applied for PIP several months ago & asked for a paper assessment due to severe hyperacusis & tinnitus issues. I received a phone call just over 2 weeks ago from DWP, which of course I couldn't answer due to my hearing issues which I explained on the form, but luckily my mum was around & able to mediate between us by relaying the information back & forth. They apparently said they would now be making a decision on my application but I haven't heard anything yet.

I have no idea of the usual timescales for decisions following a DWP call & due to the Royal Mail strikes which are coming up at the end of this month & the fact that you only have a month from the decision date to request a Mandatory Reconsideration, I am wondering if it is worth asking mum to ring them up when it gets to a month since the call. Is that jumping the gun? Should I wait a bit longer?

Thanks

Hi GVN

In the current times, we cannot predict how long you may have to wait.

There is no harm in getting your Mum to ring and find out the current progress on your case.
