Hi can anyone help with tips to get a longer time between reviews as i get so stressed out its unreal my hair falls out at the front and ive been waiting 15months before this review after attending welfare rights. I couldnt attend the long journey from middlesborough to gateshead for 9 am in the morning so had to have a telephone appointment instead. as i cannot drive that far on my own i didnt get any award for following a journey which i should of. can yoou help suggest anything.
If you have had your decision letter - you can put in for a mandatory reconsideration and challenge any parts you like, including the length of the award. Be aware that not many people have been successful in challenging the award length, but that doesn't mean you shouldn't try. You will have to argue why you believe your award length should be longer. If the DWP believes a claimant's health can improve at any stage, they will give a shorter award.
If you haven't already, you should get hold of a copy of your assessment report - PA4 - so you can see why you weren't awarded the points you expected.
