I received my PA4 ( form the assessors completes and sends to the DWP. )after my telephone review. It looks like they will increase my award under mobility to the higher award. And so they should, after all I had a letter from the G.P supporting me. This means that somewhere is a back payment for over a year for the difference between the standard and the higher rate and I need that money as I have got behind with my fuel and Council tax bills.
The thing is, I have got a progressively worsening condition no cure and it can only get worse. Even though I should have been awarded enough points to give me the standard rate under daily living, by some creative typewriter work the assessor managed to deny me enought points. But she wrote so many things in my favour that I think I could get this overturned at the mandatory recon stage or ultimately the Courts ( I was successful last time! )
So now I will wait for the official letter from the DWP. But if I challenge the decision on the daily living, will I have to wait for the backpayment for the mobility component?
Any back payment should be payable within a week or two of the Decision being made, so you are likely to be in receipt of it before you can actually request a Mandatory Reconsideration.
The only think I would warn you against is spending it until an MR Decision has been made, an MR can reduce or even remove an existing award and whilst it is rare for this to happen, we still get it reported in the forum.
