While we can only answer general questions, this may be of help -
To claim DLA your partner will need to pass the forward & backwards test, i.e the condition(s) has existed for 3 months & is likely to last for another 6 months.
However, DLA is not awarded on the condition alone but the needs that arise from it. If your partner needs help with day or nightime care or both, needs someone to be there for reassurance, needs help when outside and so on, he may qualify.
I would suggest that you read the guides in the orange Members Only section on DLA to see if they apply to your partner.
