In addition to you local CAB office you can try Community Legal Advice. See the following
www.legalservices.gov.uk/public/community_legal_advice.asp
Our ESA guides can be accessed from the Members Only link in the orange section on the left of the page.
If you have any specific questions, please come back to the forum.

they sent me a letter telling me that they have changed their decision regarding my appeal on the 5/5/11...
i ring them up and they told me that they have awarded me esa... 6 different advisers told me this i got a rather horrid call from them a few days ago telling me the letter does not exists and demanded i take it to the jobcentre immeadiatly for them to check if ive made it myself....
they have said the letter has not come from their office, even tho its got their address on it..
i have been told flat out that the letter is wrong and i have not had a change in decision.

Unfortunately there is a considerable disconnect between the call centre staff and the back room staff who actually manage claims and make Decisions. Many B&W members have experienced incorrect information being provided to them, including basic information that one would have expected to be available to the call centre staff on their screens.
Have you escalated this situation to the Customer Services Manager at your local DWP office?
Is your appeal is still pending, as it would be normal for the DWP to lapse this is a Reconsideration finds in your favour?

With regard to your appeal, my best advice is for you to review our Appeals guide and the Claim guides in the Members Only area.i got 9 points in my medical for manual dexterity issues... the fact i was scored for that problem contradicts other areas where i would have scored extra 6 i needed to pass...
Apeals are won by showing that you meet the ESA criteria, so it is important that you detail how this is the case, and where possible, support this with evindence from your GP and other health care professionals.
