Hi,

I got a letter a couple of days ago saying my LHA wud be decreasing from the single room rate to the shared room (quite a drop). (was 25 years of age, now going to 35)

I get high rate care dla. Does this exempt me?

I see I could possibly also be eligible for the carer room which would be even better. Whilst my carers are NOT official (they are friends) they take in turns and i usually have someone here 6 nights out of 7

hope this is ok to ask. I did a search and found info about the extra room rate, but not about this issue.

Whilst we are aware that these changes are being implemented, Housing Benefit is not one that we deal with on the forum.

I would suggest you contact your local CAB or Welfare Rights office for further assistance.
