All DLA claimants (where the award has been in place for at least 12 months) can be reviewed/reconsidered at any time under the 'Right Payment Programme'(RPP). Albeit only a small number of claims are reviewed/reconsidered, some are chosen relative to the possibility of needs changing and some totally at random.
Some claimants are contacted, whilst in some cases the paperwork maybe reviewed.
Hence it is possible for ones claim to be changed/amended without the claimant asking.
