On 13 December I received my last payment of Incapacity Benefit. I have appealed a decision made by Atos that I'm am not eligible to receive ESA. I phoned DWP was told that because I'm appealing, I will still receive benefit but at a considerably reduced rate. I will be paid tomorrow, a week before I should be, which means I will not be paid for another three weeks! Does anyone know of any benefits I may be able to claim?

Yes you should receive Assessment Rate of ESA whilst appealing.

You could be entitled to Housing Benefit or Council Tax Benefit, however it is impossible to give accurate advice on any benefits that you may be entitled to, without having access to your personal details.

You would need to seek face to face advice on this.

If you seek face-to-face advice as recommended by bro58, you may like to ask about Social Fund loans (see here ), charity grants and food parcels. Some Jobcentres and advice centres give out vouchers for food parcels. I must stress, though, that as bro says, you do need face-to-face advice about help available to you.

I messaged you earlier but I can't seen it anywhere so here it is again. Gist of the message. Was told I'd be receiving some benefit at a reduced rate whilst appeal is going ahead. Money was to go into my account on 22nd December, a week before it was due. Didn't go into bank, neither did it go in 23rd. Contacted, they said backlog problem. I'm in the Republic of Ireland for New Year. I informed the DWP I would be abroad for New Year. Rang DWP from Dublin, they couldn't help me and was told the part of the screen they needed to help me was 'blank'. Still no money in my account since 13th December. I know I'm entitled to 'holidays' when in receipt of Incapcity B, which I no longer receive. Does anyone know of any reason why I haven't been paid? Like I said, I was told I'd be on the reduced rate pending my appeal. Look forward to hearing from you. HAPPY NEW YEAR BY THE WAY!
