I used the Benefits and Works guides to fill in my form for the process of being transferred from IB to ESA. I received a telephone call to to say I have been placed in the WRAG. I am appealing as I retired on ill health 4 years ago, I am trying to gather more support from other health professionals I have seen, my ill health retirement procedure was rigorous not something given easily as I worked for a local authority. I am 60 next year am finding this very stressful. I suppose worst case scenario is stay in this group and after a year lose the allowance due to time restraints and my husbands income. Feels wrong when I have worked all my life and have no income of my own.
The problem is that the ESA assessment looks at your ability to do certain tasks, not your ability to work (and it certainly doesn't take into account the question of whether anyone would employ you)!
