My Son receives DLA at the higher level indefinately. He started work two months ago and works for his Uncle in an office with no manual labour involved. He informed the DWP by letter, again two months ago, and explained the job discription also the details of working for a close reative. We have heard nothing back whatsoever and my Wife feels we should contact them again, I am against this as I feel we should leave well alone. All the relevant deatils were included in the letter, DOB and NI number. Any advice/opinions would be most gratefully received. Regards -- nomlas
Hi N,
As you may well be aware, DLA is an "In work benefit", therefore as long as there is nothing involved in the job itself, that may conflict with your son's qualifying needs etc for his DLA award, there should not be a problem.
You have done the right thing by informing the DWP in writing.
Did you send the letter by recorded delivery, and keep a copy?
if not, you could resend the letter as above, adding a footnote that if you do not hear to the contrary within 14 days, that you will take it that all is O.K.
It is upto you though, whether you wish to send this repeat letter.

Many thanks. No, just sent by first class post but we do have a copy, concerned that if we send again they might start delving. Any opinions or anyone had any experience of this? Regards nomlas.
Hi N
If you sent the letter to the correct address :
Disability Living Allowance Unit or Attendance Allowance Unit
Warbreck House
Warbreck Hill
Blackpool
Lancashire
FY2 0YE
and you are happy that they have received it, then you have informed them of this "Change in circumstances".
However, it is always advisable to have proof of posting, and proof that it was received, with a signature, just in case there are any queries in the future.
It is entirely upto you though.
