ethel p wrote: Well after being a member for several years I have had to do my first post. Thank you all so much for your time and support to all who have to go through this process. Is this a record, I received a letter the 30th of September to initiate the process of transfer. A phone call four days later then the forms Esa 50 within three days with a return by the 28th of October. Because of the advice and guides I had downloaded and started the form, also been collecting evidence for a while. It was ready and sent before the date, to be signed for at the other end as is deemed the best proof. Today I received a brown envelope 3rd of December, after looking at it for a while I decided I had to face the contents but the speed of this process was giving me no confidence that it would be good news. WRONG! Thanks to the guides and the sharing of others both Mods and people willing to share their news I was awarded the support group without a face to face. Not only that but having a better understanding, had as is advised explained as much as possible including my health needs and home situation so had both cr and ir esa without having to chase forms. One question there is also a top up because of the decision, so I think its all in order, but no date as to how long the award is for. Do I need to find this out or is it best to accept I have been fortunate and keep all my relevant copies of all that was sent and just be glad I found B/W.
Hi ep,
Thanks for taking the time to post informing us of your good news !!!!
Your comments regarding all at B&W are much appreciated, and we are glad that we were able to help with your transfer to ESA.
As you were transferred from SDA, you would be entitled to Contribution Based (CB) ESA, you can also get Income Related (IR) ESA top-ups to the CB ESA :
What will I be transferred to?
You will also be covered by Transitional Protection, where you can not receive any less than you were receiving prior to transfer, but you may receive more :
What will I be paid?
It seems from what you say that you are receiving an IR ESA top-up.
This could be due to the fact that as you are now in The Support Group, (SG) you are also entitled to The Enhanced Disability Premium (EDP) which is currently £15.55/Week.
This may be indicated as The Disability Income Guarantee in the breakdown of benefit included in your SG Decision Notice letter.
See : ESA Premiums
As you have noted, the Decision Notice letter does not include the recommended period before you will be reassessed. (The prognosis)
Nor does it state the reasons how and why you gained entry into The SG which may be useful at your next reassessment.
For further information on gaining verification of the above, have a look at one of my previous posts : Here.
A lot of our members do obtain this information, and it will have no adverse impact on your SG award as it will be dealt with by The Data Control Dept of the DWP.
The maximum prognosis for The SG is 3 years, hopefully you will find that you have been given the maximum period.
