I have today received a letter from CA saying I owe 2 weeks overpayment from last year when I stopped caring for my son due to illness and he went into supported living. I wrote to them informing them of the change in plenty of time and called a few times just to make sure everythung was ok. I was told that my carers allowance would run on for four weeks past the date I stopped caring and it did. I checked my money at the time and everything was correct.
I called today to query this letter I received today (a uear later) and I was told that it was because I didnt inform them (which I did and they have a letter of mine in file) and that carers allowance do not pay a four week run on. I was told on frequent occasions via phone that they do.
Can anyone advise me what to do please I am a member.
