A word about terminology. The term AIDS is rarely used now and the term symptomatic HIV used in its place. This is because campaigning groups did not like the word AIDS as it then lead to concept of innocent victims of AIDS ( as compared I suppose to the guilty one like me who got it thru sex) and also that terrible term AIDS victim. You do not hear the term cancer victim. Also the term full blown always makes me think of a pear left to ripen on the window sill, which has been left there too long and when you bite into it it has turned to mush- yuck! Not telling you off, its just that now the benefit people do not use the word AIDS either and think that if you are taking medication which reduces your HIV viral load to 'undetectable' that they can somehow assume that a person is cured, or can lead a normal life' They take no notice of when a person was diagnosed or the fact that these drugs are really toxic and have awful side effects, nor do they take into account how long a person has been on these drugs ( in my case since 1995 ) their age Im almost 60, or the toxic effects of taking antiviral medication for such a long time

A bit confused as to what to click when replying? either quick reply reply or quote. Can you make sure that the replies I sent to benion, suziq and yourself are published on the forum, as I hope they will help others. Which response button do I use if I want the comment to be published?

In my case this was not issued back in the day and has never been issued, but I was still awarded DLA. Any idea on how this will affect things?
A lot of HIV Positive claimants were issued with DS1500s and this was why they received DLA, it's unlikely that one would be accepted now as mortality rates are a lot lower than they were expected to be.

All (suitable) comments will be made public when mods are on duty. It doesn't matter whether you use the 'reply' or 'quick reply' button. 'Quote' should be used when you want to post you are answering to be quoted in your message (like I have done here).
