PIP assessment abandoned was created by Caroline Cottrell
I just had my pip assessment abandoned because the assessor said that I made her feel uncomfortable because I asked to see what she was typing. I explained that this because there have been documented cases of assessors lying in the report. She said that they would rearrange the appointment so it would be officially recorded and there would be two assessors. Is this a good thing for me?? I have had a motability car for 16 years after I had a very bad car accident which has left me with anxiety, a short term memory loss, and no balance from a broken pelvis and lower limb fractures and heel fractures and constant pain. Advice please?

Welcome to the forum, you might want to have a look at the following FAQ which explain where everything is

I'm afraid I don't think it is to your advantage. First, they are classing you as refusing to participate, this means that you have used one of your two chances to attend and must attend the next appointment whenever and wherever it is booked for, or risk you claim being closed.
Secondly, the PIP Assessment Providers have no equipment for recording an assessment and specific instructions not to offer the facility from the DWP, so I would not expect your next assessment to be recorded.
I have checked the DWP guidance to assessors and whilst it does say that the assessor would explain what they have recorded and answer any questions the claimant has about this, it does not require the assessor to show the claimant what they have written.

Section 2.7 of the PIP assessment guide gives information on recording PIP F2F. I think you can down load the latest version from the Members Area.
Basically you can record if you use your own equipment and record two copies simultaneously one for you one for the Assessors/DWP. It must recorded on CD/DVD or Cassette Tape.
Two "old" cassette recorders running at the same time will suffice. You can still get these from electrical shops quite cheap.( About £30 for two recorders and a pack of cassettes).
