PIP2 'How you disability effects you' - Preemptive

Hi all,

I'm asking a preemptive question.

As yet I use no aids in moving around (other than having to rest when I'm moving around for more the 150-200 meters), but I usually hold my wife's hand to stabilise me or lean on a wall etc. So, does using another person count as using an aid? Because if it does, I don't do much without using an aid.

I'm literally dreading starting this journey of ESA and PIP.

Being unemployed because of medical grounds at 30 is very un-fun.

Welcome to the forum, you might want to have a look at the following FAQ which explain where everything is

Welcome to Benefits and Work

In case you are not aware, your real name appears to be showing in the forum, if you want to change this then follow the instructions in the following FAQ

My full name is showing, how can I stop it?

A person cannot be an aid but they can provide assistance.

I would recommend you have a look at our PIP Claim guide, in addition to the section that deals with Mobility also have a look at entries for "reliably" and on the "majority of days".
