Company Pension and ESA

Hi,

I am sorry if my question is stupid . I have been thinking lately about this and confused myself a lot.
I had to leave my job few years ago because of my health. I worked with that company over 10 years. This company always contributed into my private pension pot and I also volunterily made monthly contribution in to this pot.

I am currently on contribution based ESA (support group ) . I have about 30 years to my retirement age.

I recently received a statement from this company about my private pension. It says that I have about £16000 into this pot. I cannot claim it until I get retired. I have no other pension else where or savings.

Should I have informed DWP about this private pension ???

You don't need to notify DWP about this are you are not/cannot be in receipt of it yet.
