Kevin thank you very much for that in depth reply.Very helpful indeed. I have given DWP all the documents and statements they have asked for ,even bank statements that are not mine ( with the other persons permission of course) and will agree to supply any others they wish. In hindsight it as a foolish thing to do gifting that money and I should have known it could be misconstrued. I certainly will never gift money again or help family out with any money.In fact I am now very wary of having any savings in case it leads to such a mess again. I have told DWP that if they deem I have done something wrong I will happily repay the money without a fuss in instalments. I do not have the energy to appeal.
