They need to contact the DWP again, Income Support is most definitely back dateable, depending on the CA award.

My PIP has been awarded exactly from where my DLA had been stopped so basically PIP has now run on from that so one would assume my Carer's benefits would be the same, yet income support says it is never back dated but it is the main part of my Carer's benefit!
