PIP Appeal- Mental Health Conditions was created by smark25
Hi,
My appeal date is 19th December 2016- I have Generalised Anxiety Disorder (GAD) and Clinical Depression (CD). I failed initially, had a mandatory reconsideration and was awarded the basic for daily living but nothing for mobility. I am appealing for advanced Daily Living and at least basic mobility. I did not have a face-to-face assessment with anyone.
I was wondering whether anyone could advise as to what type of questions they ask? I have a lot of medical evidence backing me up, from my CPN, GP, housing Officer and therapist but I am petrified they are looking for a reason to stop it and I am having sleepless nights.
Thanks

A Tribunal must warn the claimant if they are thinking of reducing or removing an existing award so that the claimant can withdraw the appeal,

Hi Gordon
Thanks for your response.
In terms of evidence, what weight is attached. As I said, I have letters from 4 different health professionals, backing up all the criteria that should award me the full rate mobility and and daily living.
Thanks
Mark

The tribunal panel certainly give more weight to the claimant's evidence than DWP do. However, they will be most interested in hearing from you about your limitations.

hi Mark
I am also going to appeal on mental health grounds
my appeal is next week and my head is all over the place
I have no idea if I am doing the right thing
I hate not knowing what they are going to ask and like you it is haunting my nights as well as days
I was very shocked at how soon my appeal came through so I don't really feel ready but then I guess I never will be
I wish you all the best for yours
