DLA TO PIP was created by sandymae
I have just received notification of a home visit assessment (DLA TO PIP). Can you tell me why it is a home visit rather than at an assessment centre? Any help and advice on this assessment would be helpful as I supplied written evidence in my application I suffer from anxiety and depression along with many other things and am petrified of this

Nothing on this board constitutes legal advice - always consult a professional about specific problems

Hi Sandymae and Welcome to the forum, you might want to have a look at the following FAQ which explains where everything is
Welcome to Benefits and Work
I have moved your query to a topic of it's own. Unlike some other fora, we ask members to keep everything relating to the same claim in one place and not to mix questions from different members. This helps us to ensure that the correct information is given (and taken).
By allocating a home visit the Assessment Provider has accepted that you suffer from considerable difficulties. If you really cannot tolerate having a stranger in your home you can ask fro this to be held elsewhere - but you should think carefully before doing this.
You can decide who to have with you during the assessment and which room you wish to be used. The assessor will not want to look around the rest of your home.
Our PIP guide explains the criteria against which you are being measured and also what to expect from the face2face.
PIP help for claimants
May I suggest that you bookmark/favourite this on your web browser now so that you can find it easily in future? This will allow you to return with further questions or comments about your PIP without starting a new topic each time. We ask members to keep everything relating to the same claim in one topic - and I hope you will find it useful too
