Notification of local service compliance phone ... was created by Chazy
Interview.
Hi, a family member has received a letter with the above title, I was wondering if you could shed some light on what this means please ? In particular what does local service mean ? Does this indicate that someone has reported my family member for something ? We are at a loss as to why this has been auctioned. Any help would be really appreciated, thank you.

Nothing on this board constitutes legal advice - always consult a professional about specific problems

The vast majority of these are the result of random selection, it is possible that there has been a report or something has been flagged by the DWP or another agency, but given it is a phone interview then I think it unlikely that this is the case.
They should be able to contact the Compliance Officer and ask what the call is about.

Thank you so much Gordon, I don't think they have anything to worry about at all but try as I have telling that to someone who has severe mental health problems and who is on the edge is very difficult . Just by answering this Gordon you have helped more than you know thank you. The person is ringing the number on the letter first thing, the telephone apt is scheduled for the 12th Sept, they cannot possibly wait that long and it is very cruel to let them do so.
Thank you again

Just an update Gordon
I encouraged the person to ring the number on the letter and find out what is was about. The relative in question suffers severe mental health issues and would have without doubt self harmed/contemplated suicide if made to wait until the telephone call on the 12th. The person they called said all he was obliged to say was that he is from the Freud and Compliance department, that this matter does not relate to freud but does to compliance and that allegations had been made, he would not elaborate and just kept saying everything would be discussed on the 12th. Honestly, some people !!!! nothing better to do than create more pain and anxiety for those who are already drowning in it, we know has reported the relative, spiteful couple, the wife of the couple was denied PIP at tribunal and has now set her sites on anyone who she feels ''why did they get it and not me'' I have told my relative so many times not to divulge to anyone what benefits they get but it is enormously difficult to get the relative to listen when they are so ill. As I help this relative with all facets of life including benefits I know they have absolutely done nothing wrong they do get ESA but had PIP reduced in the DLA transfer to just standard daily living, although I would have pushed for enhanced they could not face appeal, it really annoys me that benefits cause such jealousy, I know the torment my relative goes through daily and I know they would one hundred percent rather have an unscrambled, focused and healthy mind than claim any benefits at all.
Oh and it appears that one would not necessarily be called in for a face to face in an office, it is all rather strange that from all I have read if a report had been made then a telephone conversation would be unlikely ?
thanks again

The DWP are obliged to follow up all reports against someone's benefit claim, I think that the fact that they are doing this via a phone call is reflective of how they view the report, although I realise this is unlikely to help your family member deal with the wait.

Hi Chazy,
Jim, a former moderator on this site had an allegation made against him (a wheelchair user, reported to be carrying sacks of cement and doing building work on his home), but when he was visited by the compliance officer, he was told that over 95% of allegations turn out to be false, yet they are obliged to investigate each one.
I too had an allegation made against me, which was simply "he's not as disabled as he makes out". The compliance interview amounted to nothing.
I know that these interviews cause stress and anxiety even when you know you've done nothing wrong, but they are usually based on false or ignorant allegations, when allegations have been made.
What idiot said, if you've got nothing to hide you've got nothing to fear ???
Best of luck to your relative,
Derek
