TOPIC: Physical Assessment

Physical Assessment/PIP/Loss Severe Disabi Prem 4 months 2 weeks ago #192914

Thanks, again Gordon

Letter arrived today saying that I'd lost the Severe Disability Premium - because DLA had gone, i.e. that because I had less money I was not severely disabled - tho Atos (ESA) doctor thought so.
I didn't know about this + they took 6 weeks to tell me. The Appeal's gone in + been acknowledged, I know this can take months and after all this I'm not now that hopeful.
I suppose I don't think that anything can be done - e.g. can I get some sort of interim payment pending the Appeal. I realise prob not but really don't know how I can live in the interim - not enough money to pay rent - have tel Council but they don't think can help - or anything else.
Have now lost over £700 per month - how can anyone survive this?

I'm sorry but unless you are in N. Ireland then there are no interim payments that you can receive.

Try putting your information into one of the online benefit calculators, they may show other benefits that you might be eligible for.

Nothing on this board constitutes legal advice - always consult a professional about specific problems

I've now been to a legal advice centre + she's asked the GP for info. Unfortunately, the GP is new - just the "assigned" one whom I've only seen for v minor things so her copies of recent appointments were unhelpful to say the least.
However I've seen 2 of the other GPs re this (DWP issues) who have been v sympathetic + I had no problem in having the “fit” not signed for months pre ESA assessment.
My problem now is what exactly I should ask them? I have the B+W pro forma letter but am unsure. It seems a bit of a nerve/imposition to ask her to just tick the boxes, especially those “suggested” by me. Have most GPs been OK with this or should I try to do an abridged letter?
Many thanks

Alex

If you are using the GP notes document from the Members area then this also includes a comment section for each activity so that the GP can add any notes that they feel are appropriate.

We used the GP notes document for my wifes appeal. Not only was our GP happy to endorse the doc. she also kept a copy for use with other claimants that asked for her input.
