TOPIC: PIP And Mobility Car

PIP And Mobility Car 3 months 2 weeks ago #194471

I am waiting to hear the results of my F2F for PIP.
If I get a negative result can I keep my car while I'm going through the MR ?
Also is it worth applying for AA instead of going through the aggrevation of the MR
plus the tribunal that might follow ?

Thanks

If you are currently receiving DLA and being transferred to PIP then Motability can offer you a range of options for your car should you not receive a qualifying award, these include compensation and retaining your car for up to 26 weeks.

You can apply for Attendance Allowance if you are 65 or older but be aware that it has no mobility component and it can be more difficult to receive than DLA as assessors often make allowance for age related illnesses.

I am receiving DLA and being transferred to PIP.
Without my car I am totally housebound.
Could you point me in the right direction to get information on the options motability
offer.

Many Thanks

You would need to contact the Motability charity, details should be on their website.

I have looked on the motability website and read the choices, sadly it doesn't look
like they could help me to stay mobile as there's no way I could afford to buy
my car . You have to pay cash for your mobility car now, unlike some years ago
when you could buy it from the dealer on finance.

Thanks for the information.

There is the option of a private loan, rather than one from Motability.
