Hi everyone,
Well I've just received another ESA 50 in the post this morning.

I also received copies of all of my mental health records that I requested from the Mental Health Trust, and undortunately they are not going to be helpful, in fact they will be unhelpful. The last review on 18th September classifies me as at less risk, and the CPN says that I can now go out on my own and that she doesn't think I need a care co-ordinator anymore. There is a Care Plan Meeting arranged for 3rd November and having read these records I think they will discharge me. These days they are quick to discharge people.

Has anyone managed to get their ESA renewed if not under secondary care, but just the care of their GP, or is still the case that most are turned down.

I will be able to copy some bits from about a year ago to include that may be helpful. But I haven't actually got any better, it's more that they don't think that they are helping me.

Hi again JBM,

I'm sorry that you have to be back here so soon :(

Many peop0le have been 'parked' by secondary care. due to lack of resources etc, so you are certainly not alone in this.

You will need to make it clear that the reason for your discharge is down to the fact that they cannot help you further, rather than that your condition has improved.

Please remember to use the latest version of the ESA guide and to come back here with further queries :)

I have copies of my two previous ESA85As as I never had a face to face for either assessment. They don't say that much really but do cover the reasons that I was found unfit for work and why they were recommending the support group. Would it be worth enclosing these with the ESA50 form.

Although I have got in on the ESA50 that I have been in the support group, I wondered if it would help if they could see why two of their fellow HCPs had recommended this.

JBM

Yes you can submit the two ESA85As but make sure that you explain why they are still relevant to your conditions as they are now.
