Ok Thankyou so much for your help, I just want to get this straight in my head. So I started a claim for esa in February 2015 and had an assessment in February 2016. I received a letter saying I got 0 points in April2016. I then sent a letter for mandatory reconsideration and got a reply end of may saying that the decision had been changed and I was put in to wrag. I was paid til April and backdated money for the extra part. At the end of July I sent another letter saying I still didn't agree with the result And asked to be put in support group. I got a phone call 2 weeks ago from a decision maker saying she had enough info to transfer me to support group . I waited for payment but nothing came so I phoned dwp who say I'm not getting money as my contributions ran out in April ? So are you saying I should be getting paid even if the decision maker says she is transferring me to support group only from August. ? Thanks again

Yes. The limit on the payment of ESA(CB) does not apply to claimants who are in the SG.

I've just phoned DWP again and again was told I'm not entitled to any payments as my contributions are exhausted, so I quoted what you said and that I'd like to speak to a manager! The guy then said to give him a moment to discuss with a colleague and when he came back he said it would seem I am indeed entitled to esa in support group regardless of contributions and that he will send an email so somebody will call me!! I did ask what would happen if I wasn't persistent would I just lose what I'm entitled to? He stuttered and didn't have an answer. I cannot Thankyou enough for the help you have given me throughout this process and I will let you know what happens next! Thankyou again

Hi, after another 4/5 phone calls and being told time and again that I will not be getting any payments, today finally after 3 more calls I have just been told my claim history is all in the right order and so I will be receiving payments and also backdated from 28th July. I really can't thank you for your advice and information as without it I would have believed them. Thankyou again.
